Hi, my name is Lexy Jones and I am a sophomore at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. I am currently majoring in Strategic Communications and minoring in Computer Science. Some of my hobbies include playing sports, walking with friends and watching Netflix. I am from a small town in Connecticut but enjoy going to school in the warmth. My past semester in Composition 2 in Dr Davis' class is one I will never forget. It made me realize just how amazing and important the 1960's were and I cant wait to continue to learn more.
Without the 60's things today could be extremely different. As touched on in my Rhetorical Case Study, the women's rights movement played a large part in the ongoing fight for women's equality. Without those women and few men who stood for what they believed in, there may have been no change from the 1950's. Women were seen as the stereotypical stay at home mother who did chores and took care of the family, including their husband. Now, women are seen as strong and independent breaking the boundaries of stereotypes every single day.
